FISHING REPORT JUNE 27TH, 2010
Striper fishing this week was excellent. With the surface temperatures ranging from 87 to 89.7 the fish are beginning to school off points and near the channel below Brown's Bridge. We caught numerous fish on downlines fished 20 to 32 feet deep over 42 to 70 foot bottoms. Some of the fish are still finicky about biting and had to persuade them to bite by dropping the blueback wih a 2 oz sinker to the bottom and winding up 3 rounds and they would nail it. The other method to attract bites was to drop a 2 oz Capt Macs bucktail jig tipped with a blueback herring to the bottom and power reeling it back up. We had to vary the speed from very slow to burning it to see what they liked best. All in all a great week and looking forward to the summer bite.
